Caleb, Achsah and 40 years..

There are times when God doesn't save a Caleb and a Joshua from the forty years in the wilderness, in spite of their faithfulness. One thing that we see however is how the years of knowing God in the wilderness fueled Achsah, the daughter of Caleb to be willing to take on a practical wilderness that her father allocated her as an inheritance. She had a determination and fortitude that she developed as she bloomed in the wilderness that made her the one person who could make a wilderness bloom. She didn't have a place to run away too saying she didn't like the wilderness. She didn't have the luxury to turn down the heat as the summer months bore on in the wilderness. God trained her generation to not back off into a comfort zone when challenged. No wonder Achsah never flinched but took on what ever her father gave her as an inheritance and turned it around into something worthwhile.

When God seems to let your years be wasted for other people's mistakes, not only will He keep you alive and well to inherit your promise at a later date, He also raises your children to become leaders. Be willing to bloom in the wilderness and soon the wilderness will bloom for you. At times the wilderness from which you don't get any reprieve is intended for you to learn to not run away. Once you have learned, you will one day see the wilderness bloom. Maybe its family life or a career or your next ministry appointment. God trains you to not run away in an out-of-Canaan wilderness so you will stick to your in-Canaan wilderness and transform it into what God wants.
